Next week fifth grade artists are going to make their name out of a clay slab. Some of the students you see are finishing their clay name pattern that they had to create out of paper. This paper clay name pattern will be used to cut out their names out of clay. They had a chance to practice using earthenware clay, rolling out a slab, using the clay knife to cut tricky letter shapes, and then use clay tools to make textures and designs on their letters.

First graders are getting 3 of their artworks passed back to them to roll up in a paper with a really large radial symmetry design. Look at how colorful these drawings are! Way to go Ms. Bohn's class. Fourth grade artists watched a video on how artists create the illusion of deep space in a drawing or painting. Below is a clip from that video. Following the video they practiced drawing the 5 tricks to create the illusion of space in their own sketch. Great job Mr. Hansen's class!! |
